GambleFreeGear was born from both personal experience and professional purpose. As someone who has witnessed the effects of addiction firsthand — as an affected loved one and a behavioral health professional — the weight of silence, shame, and stigma became impossible to ignore.
Throughout a public health career, the founder contributed to several landmark initiatives: identifying offender programs in 2010, supporting medical stabilization programs, and contributing to the Heroin Crisis Act (PA 99-0480) in 2018. In 2023, they helped develop a gambling prevention program at Healthcare Alternative Systems.
With a background in sales and marketing, those skills were applied to the behavioral health space — and one truth became painfully clear: silence is one of the biggest barriers to recovery.
