Unsilent Revolution is the story of the impact television news has had on politics, current events and the print media. Looking at major events over the past four decades, this work is an episodic history of the rise and ascendency of television news. Donovan and Scherer have used several unpublished journalists' accounts in this book, which differs from other studies in that it synthesizes scholarly sources along with first-hand experiences. Robert J. Donovan was chief of the Washington bureau of the New York Herald Tribune and the Los Angeles Times. He is currently a writer in Washington, D.C. Ray Scherer was a member of the NBC News Washington staff when its television broadcasts began in 1947. He was NBC's White House correspondent during the Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson administrations and, later, NBC London correspondent.

We offer a mix of retail-ready new and gently used books. All items are evaluated using our 10+ years of Amazon seller experience to ensure quality and accuracy.

Used books may show signs of wear such as spine wear, storage marks, highlighting, or annotations. Any condition details are clearly communicated so you know exactly what to expect.

We also carry unique titles, including some without ISBN numbers. If you have questions or are looking for something specific, feel free to email us — we’re happy to provide details and support.

How long is shipping?

We offer free ground shipping using the most cost-effective and reliable carriers. Orders are typically processed within 2–3 business days, so please factor this into your delivery expectations.

We aim to provide high-quality service and are always willing to accommodate special requests when possible—communication is key.

How does “Make an Offer” work?

To make an offer, please email us with the item number in the subject line. When submitting your offer, consider shipping costs—most offers within 10–15% below the listed price may be considered, while offers significantly below value may be declined.

For bulk orders of 10+ items, deeper discounts may be available depending on quantity and availability.

With over 10 years of selling experience, we enjoy the negotiation process and the spirit of treasure hunting—so don’t be shy.

Please note: Items are often one-of-one and cannot be held. Accepted offers are valid for 24 hours and are expected to result in an immediate purchase.

Do you offer bulk discounts?

Yes, we offer bulk discounts on minimum orders of 10 or more items. However, many of our products are one-of-one, so bulk availability may be limited.
